This build will be the main build site for the 2017 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, and will be home to 58 families upon completion. The build is located on 24 Street and 23 Avenue.
Located in northwest Edmonton, the Prefab Shop is a warm, dry location for volunteers to build walls and floor panels for our homes in Edmonton and across northern Alberta!
ReStore volunteers serve customers, load and unload donated materials, stock shelves, move items, tidy and organize. Each ReStore has a unique feel and staff and volunteers fill each day with laughs and fun. ReStore sells donated building materials and the proceeds cover HFH Edmonton's fundraising administration costs.
Landscaping is a variety of tasks from digging, to planting trees and shrubs, prepping for planting, installing mulch, laying sod, and pruning. Everyone works at their own physical limit – taking breaks as needed.
The Upcycling Team creatively repurposes items with materials from the Prefab Shop and ReStores. The finished items are sold in Habitat’s ReStores to help fund the program. Volunteers will be guided by a supervisor and are required to have experience with power tools.
We offer two different Workshops: Tool Training, and Paint. These workshops are NOT a requirement for volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. There is a non-refundable $20 participation fee for each workshop.
An excellent opportunity to learn more about Habitat for Humanity and volunteer opportunities. Feel free to bring friends and colleagues!
Habitat for Humanity occasionally requires volunteer help at Special Events. Special Events volunteers must receive specific training from Habitat before volunteering in this capacity. If you would like to become a Special Events Volunteer, please contact us: Trish Haryett: firstname.lastname@example.org or (780) 451-3416 x 234.
